I want to take some photos of Barns, and old rusty vehicles. But I don't know where to go to find them. I have seen several photos placed on the site, but don't know where they were taken from. I'd prefer northern Utah (Bountiful up to north Ogden, or Morgan/Huntsville). I really don't want to waste gas driving all over the place looking for something on the off-chance that I'll see something (especially while driving).

So, can anyone tell me some good locations (as close to them as possible) where I can find some good barns and rusty old trucks, tractors, etc?

Any help would be grateful. If there is anyone that wants to come along when I do this, they would be welcome.

The few rusty cars and trucks I took were down in Thompson, UT about 15 miles east of Moab on I70.  The barns

pictures I took were up in Huntsville just driving around and one was down Gentile Street going west in Layton. Also,  I belong to the Utah Historical Society and they had a featured article about the barns in Manti, UT but that is 145 miles south from Layton.  Logan has a few.  I hope this helps.

Thanks Trudy. I did take a trip to Huntsville and took some photos just driving around. But that's about it.

Garr Ranch on Antelope Island has a few old cars sitting around. And Cache Valley, north and west of Smithfield has lots of Barns. Seems I always see them when out looking for something completely different, so it's hard to say where exactly. I tend to waste lots of gas driving around looking for things. I'll take better notes next time.

Whit, thanks... That sounds really good, but, by then I am sure I'll have moved over to the UK. So will probably miss it. We are moving in early June.

I'll take a trip to Garr Ranch though at some point soon. Thanks again.

Wish I was moving to the UK! Standing Stones beat old cars in my book :) I'll look forward to your UK photos.

LOL. Yeah, I was a little surprised when Doug said that I can still be a member of the group even out of the country. I will be posting lots of UK photos when we get over there. I am starting to make a list of the places I want to visit in Europe to get pictures of.

Before I had a decent camera to take pictures with, my family took a trip to Zions National Park, and stopped in Grafton.  http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/ut/grafton.html, it has some GREAT old buildings shooting possibilities.  Hopefully, I'll be able to stop by when I'm in St. George in April for the Utah League of Cities and Towns convention.

Hmm. I should be down that way early April. I might take a look at Grafton.
