My list...

I am feeling opinionated today, so I saw a list on Pintrest (for some reason I am on there a lot as of late) that was entitled 100 tips from a professional photographer, soooo I read through this list and found I agreed with most, laughed at some, and disagreed completely with others.  So I decided it would be cool idea to make my own list me being a semi-professional but, at least a very passionate enthusiast. Well not so long of a list but plenty to get the…

RAW

I think we will let you in on a secret about photography, it’s all in the set up and settings.  We know that the accessibility to equipment capable of taking quality photography is everywhere.  Uncle Steven or Aunt Judy both take excellent picture, but fail to understand the set up and settings. Here is an illustration of what we mean.  We share this not to discourage passion or hard work, both of which helped us on our road to becoming a photographer rather than a picture taker.  We share…

Farmington Bay Annual Eagle Shoot

Just an update on our 4th annual Shooting the Eagles out at Farmington Bay Bird Refuge in February:

Been wanting to say something about this for a few months but have been taking reports on the Eagles at the Bay before. So far reports have been coming back that the Eagles are few and far between.  A few factors come into play here. The last few years it has been getting warmer and warmer for longer pushing back the ice so that most can not get a good shot of them at that…

Mumford Time Machine

so, I was crawling the web today, and came across the Mumford Time Machine. No, it isn't something out of Doctor Who, nor Back to the future. I seem to vaguely remember Doug mentioning this device to me when we were playing with water drops. Is this what you mentioned Doug?

Anyway, looking at the device on this site (if links appear in this forum): https://bmumford.securewebsites.com/photo/camctlr.html

It…

Barns & old vehicles

I want to take some photos of Barns, and old rusty vehicles. But I don't know where to go to find them. I have seen several photos placed on the site, but don't know where they were taken from. I'd prefer northern Utah (Bountiful up to north Ogden, or Morgan/Huntsville). I really don't want to waste gas driving all over the place looking for something on the off-chance that I'll see something (especially while driving).

So, can anyone tell me some good locations (as close to…

Assistant for Wedding

I just thought I would throw this out there if anyone is interested.

I am shooting my brother in law's wedding on September 9th.  I have many times taken pictures for a family member and have also jumped into the shots im needed in.  This time I thought it would be nice, if it was mutually beneficial, to have an assistant to help me with this wedding.  You could stay the whole day or just for part.  If you dont have a great understanding of the "wedding photographer flow", this might…

Photos on Canvas

Way back, I read a blog about someone who was asking where you could have your pictures printed on canvas.

I can't find the blog anymore and I was hoping someone could help me with places that do this for an inexpensive price.

Ogden Valley Balloon Festival/Hill Air Show

I just received word that the annual Ogden Valley Balloon festival hat we have shot in the past up in Eden has been "postponed until July 2012"

This is sad news because this is one of the great ones perfect for great photos.  But I will still keep my ears and eyes open for more info on this or watch for next years announcement.

Also as many of you are already aware the Hill Air Force Base air show has been canceled and dissolved completely so that will not be…
