This is a club event.We will be going over location lighting typically referred to as strobist lighting. We will go over gear, triggers, modifiers, and the what and whens to get the look you are going for.The workshop will not be specifically focused on strobe lighting and will include using reflectors and natural light.This will be held at the NSL studios. Space is somewhat limited so rsvp asap to ensure a spot.See More

Christmas Party report

The Club Christmas Party turned out awesome!
We had a great turn out and had a lot of fun. For those that were unable to attend, we hope you will join us next year.
We started with the potluck. Michelle made a great ham and my wife made some dutch oven roast turkey. We had a lot of great food including all kinds of salads, desserts, rolls, you name it we had it. It has always amazed me how non-assigned pot lucks…

On Friday my Dad and I went for a helicopter ride above and around Ogden.
This was only my second flight and was my Dad's first.
This was us before the flight. We were still fairly warm at this point but wore coats because we would be flying with no doors and it was ~45 F at the time.
We originally wanted to fly above downtown Ogden and fly across the front of Mount Ben Lomond Peak but the clouds were really low and that area… Continue

Lightroom – fundamentals to intermediate SIGN-UP Deadline November 3, 2010 at Midnight
Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9 p.m. Starting November 4, 2010, 2010 2 weeks(4 classes) $55 or $45 for Photographix members
There is a minimum of 6 students required

My First Flight

This weekend I had the opportunity to do some aerial shots for Davis County.
I had never flown in a helicopter before so I was pretty nervous. Not about anything in particular just the unknown I guess. Still, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
I met my pilot Alex at the Ogden airport at 8 in the morning. Within 10 minutes we were up and flying.
The doors were removed so that it was not obstructing the view for the photos. This made it a little on the nippy side but… Continue
